BM406D MPL Machine at NPE 2009
BekumAmerica will debut the BM-406D MPL technology at NPE 2009
Bekum will debut a new concept in high production blow molding with the introduction of Multi Parting Line (MPL) technology to our proven BM-406D double station blow molding machine. The basis of MPL is the unique (Patent Pending) Multi Parting Line mold construction as developed by Fidelity Tool and Mold Ltd. Coinciding with the MPL mold is a unique double row extrusion head designed and manufactured by W. Müller. The Bekum BM-406D MPL version integrates double row calibration, double row parison cutting and specialized servo electric take-out systems. A Bekum machine equipped with MPL technology brings to the extrusion blow molding community the opportunity to double machine cavitation, while maintaining all the advantages of shuttle machine production, such as:
- Calibrated neck finishes eliminating secondary finishing
- In machine-deflashing
- Oriented bottle discharge to one side of the machine
- Ease of operation and adjustment
- 2 or 3 layer compatibility
- Compact machine footprint
With the MPL technology, we are able to produce in excess of 5,000 (15 ounce) oval shampoo bottles/hour in a 16-cavity execution on the mid-sized shuttle BM-406D shuttle platform.
MPL technology is also available on the Bekum H-series shuttle machines as well as Bekum Long Stroke platforms. The same 15 ounce Oval bottle will run 32 cavities on the BM-806D MPL for an output in excess of 10,000 bottles / hour.
On the commercial side, MPL offers:
- Lower investment cost per cavity
- Reduced factory space requirement
- Lower energy consumption per bottle
- Maximum utilization of assets
On the performance, flexibility, and reliability side, MPL offers:
- High-speed production and high efficiency
- Optimized bottle weight
- Very high consistency in meeting product specifications
