Mar. 2007 BAC ships Machine to Ferris State University
Bekum, as the world's leading manufacturer of extrusion blow molding machinery, has been proactive in promoting the educational process in the plastics industry.
Ferris State University opened the National Elastomer Center for Plastics and Rubber Technology in Big Rapids, Michigan some 14 years ago and is a nationally recognized university with Associate and Bachelor's degree programs in Plastics Engineering Technology.
Bekum America Corporation has developed a special bond with Ferris over the last 14 years with our ongoing consignment of a continuous extrusion blow molding machine to its National Elastomer Center. Earlier this month, Bekum shipped a new single-station, fully automatic H-121S blow molding machine to Ferris. This machine provides the students of the Plastics Engineering Technology Program with hands-on experience on a state-of-the-art continuous extrusion blow molding machine, which includes the latest in microprocessor controls.
In addition, Bekum continues to advise professors at Ferris with regard to curriculum for blow molding education. Numerous key Bekum employees are alumni of Ferris' Plastics Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Programs. Bekum is pleased to be able to support this fine university and contribute to continued education in blow molding.
