June 2006 Bekum Prepares for Strong NPE 2006

 NPE 2006, The International Plastics Showcase, will be held June 19-23, 2006 at McCormick Place in Chicago , Illinois. Bekum America Corporation is excited to announce we will be participating in our 16th NPE show and will be displaying the following:

Tandem Mold BM-406D (Tandem)

The BM-406D will be running a high-output demonstration of an 8 oz. HDPE school milk bottle in tandem, neck-to-neck production, featuring:
  • 6 x 70 mm CLD, 24-cavity production 
  • In-machine deflashing and automatic blow dome removal 
  • Bottle lightweighting via precise 100-point parison programming 
  • 11,500 bottles per hour nominal output 
  • Up to 90 million bottles per year
BM806D Long Stroke BM-806D (Long Stroke)

Bekums newest twin-station, long stroke machine will make its debut in North America at NPE 2006.  Outstanding features:
  • Full in-machine deflashing and oriented bottle discharge 
  • Up to 10-parison production
  • IML-compatible 
  • Up to 40 million bottles per year output
BA-14 CO-EX

BA-14 (Co-Ex)

Bekum shows its commitment to co-extrusion technology with the introduction of the BA-14 Co-Ex system.  The single-sided BA-14 will be running a small engine fuel tank in six-layer HDPE/EVOH structure using a six-extruder co-ex package and features:

  • Large clamp size (up to 20 liters) 
  • In-machine deflashing 
  • Bekum BKC 180-6 co-ex head with die size capability of 50 228 mm 
  • The BA-14 is ideally suited for development work in food, beverage, and chemical packaging, as well as the small engine tank market.

After NPE, this state-of-the-art co-ex machine will be installed in Bekum America s process development lab
